Make these quick and easy diy Christmas Gift Card Holders. Creative paper gift card idea for kids and adults. #craftedliving #christmascrafts #christmasgifts #diycrafts

Christmas is coming. Got gift cards? Then, you need Christmas Gift Card Holders so why not make them yourself. A quick and easy project that is easy to make in multiples. One sheet of cardstock yields three gift card holders.Yay! Maximizing my supplies always brings a smile to my face and my wallet too.

Gather the following tools and supplies to create the Christmas Gift Card Holders:

(These next 13 links are affiliate links which means I get a commission if you purchase through me.)

  • Ultimate Card Making Tool Kit
  • Scallop Edged Punch or Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes
  • 1.25″ circle punch
  • snowflake punch
  • corner rounder
  • patterned paper
  • white cardstock and colored cardstock
  • adhesive
  • precision point adhesive
  • velcro dots
  1. Cut one sheet of colored 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock into three pieces measuring 3.5″ x 8.5″. You will have one small piece of cardstock left measuring .5″ x 11″.
  2. Score cardstock using a metal ruler, mat and embossing stylus at 2″ from one end or use a scoring board. Then, measure 4″ from the first score mark and score again.
  3. Fold at the score marks and use the bone folder to crisp the edges.
  4. Use the corner rounder to round the corners on the 2″ end to finish the flap.
  5. Cut three pieces of patterned paper at: 3.25″ x 1.75″, 3.25″ x 2.25″ and 3.25″ x 3.75″.
  6. Use the corner rounder to round the corners of one end of the smallest piece of paper. This piece will be put on the flap and will match the rounded corners of the base piece.
  7. Run precision point adhesive along the side edges of the 2.25″ end of the cardstock to make the pocket. Be careful to run the adhesive close to the edge on each side so there is plenty of room for the gift card to slide in and out of the pocket.
  8. Adhere the patterned paper pieces to the outside of the gift card holder using adhesive.
  9. Cut the medallion of your choosing at 2″ from the Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge or punch out a scalloped circle. I used the Flower 7 medallion.
  10. Punch out the circle from colored cardstock and snowflake from white cardstock. Adhere the circle to the medallion using the tape runner. Adhere the snowflake to the medallion.
  11. Adhere the entire medallion to the top half of the flap using adhesive.
  12. Attach the velcro dot to the flap for closure.
  13. Fill your Christmas Gift Card Holders with gift cards. Merry Christmas!

I have been making these gift card holders for years as I was originally inspired by this post. Sometimes a gift card is the best gift you can give and these gift card holders will last and last. And, this project looks great with any patterned paper and cardstock combo you choose.

Meet me back here for more Christmas crafty goodness as we are just getting started. Be creative!

Editor’s note: I created these gift card holders with Pebbles Inc. Rouge Dot paper, which is no longer available. The Echo Park paper is a suitable alternative.

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. Nevertheless think of if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this website could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field. Excellent blog!
