Winter garden

My parent’s garden is blooming all of the time with spring and summer being the most prolific.  I took these shots in the middle of December before the start of our current heat spell, which is finally coming to an end.  An unseasonably warm spell in the winter really confuses the plants.  We don’t have defined seasons here in sunny Southern California, but you can usually rely on your garden to tell what season it is.

Lemon season is here!

My mother loves the older rose varieties because they have more character and are simply charming.

This blue hydrangea is on the same plant as the lavender one.

I hope you enjoyed the tour!  It is a labor of love worth sharing and I will visit periodically throughout the year to share the beauty with all of you.

It is like the seed put in the soil – the more one sows, the greater the  harvest. -Orison Swett Marden
