Little Free Library

Micro Library #17

While we were out running errands over the weekend, we stumbled across this micro library.  Placed right next to the sidewalk, it is a welcome sight for pedestrians as well as animals of the barking variety.  This library has dog treats tucked inside waiting to be shared.  What a novel idea! *Tina P.S. Micro Library #15

The newest addition to the micro library network in South Pasadena.  My husband and mother alerted me to this one.  On an idyllic, treelined street set amongst mature landscaping, this micro library is a winner in the curb appeal department.  Time to check out some books! *Tina

Micro Library #13

With school starting this week, I felt it was appropriate to share my latest find.  This library was erected shortly before school was let out in June.  Located in front of the school, this library will get lots of use and will soon be filled to the brim with books. A great location and maybe…

Photography Monday: Micro Library #12

Lo and behold.  I didn’t have to search for this one.  This library is located on my route for my morning walk.  This property is in the midst of a front yard renovation,  but the library is open and ready for business.  Located about a block from our local park, it was getting some…

Photography Monday: Micro Library #11

Several co-workers told me about this micro library a few blocks from work.  Placed amongst a sustainable landscape, this library beckons you to inspect it.  With no door and a penny roof, it has lots of character, which adds to its charm.  Recently, I spoke about the trend of micro libraries with some new acquaintances,…

Photography Monday: Micro Library #10

Located in Costa Mesa, this micro library is showcasing the rustic aesthetic.  If you notice, the structure of the library is built with a wooden crate.  Very simple construction yet effective.  It definitely belongs in this yard to keep company with the eclectic collection of lawn ornaments and unusual plants.

Photography Monday: Micro Library #9

We’ve being visiting Orange County every weekend since the beginning of the year so I decided to see what was close to our route.  This library is located in Costa Mesa in front of a townhouse complex and across the street from a school.  A perfect location that I hope gets lots of use. *Tina

Photography Monday: Micro Library #5

Yesterday, we were in Glendale at a private home celebrating a friend’s wedding anniversary.  Since I wanted to expand my search of micro libraries, I decided to see if there was one in the vicinity.  As luck would have it, there was.  This charming library is located in Verdugo Park, a mere two minutes away…

Photography Monday: Micro Library #4

Well, I thought South Pasadena only had three micro libraries.  Welcome #4.  My friend that told me about #3 found this one soon after and she was certain it was brand new.  It is and has been open for two weeks.  This library is in perfect harmony with the house and so charming.  It has…

Micro Library

I had read an article in the newspaper recently about micro libraries.  I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this one in my neighborhood and come to find out that my town supports two of these micro libraries.  What is a micro library?  It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors…
