Finally!
I love dahlias! I patiently wait for their blooms each year and I am never disappointed. This year was off to a rocky start. We had several unseasonably early heat waves this year, which killed my initial crop. I thought the plants were finished. I cut back all of the growth and thought no more for the season. Done. To my surprise, they started to grow again. The extreme heat subsided and they flourished. These are the first blooms of the crop with more to come. Strangely enough, my mother’s blooms started are few weeks ago and will continue long after mine are finished. So, rest assured, you will see more dahlias throughout the summer because I love them so. Enjoy!
