Sugar skulls represent departed souls and are usually adorned with the departed’s name on the forehead. These skulls are then placed on the home altar to honor the return of a particular spirit. They are colorful and festive because the altar symbolizes a celebration of life, not death. These Day of the Dead Party Favors would be a nice addition to an altar or great as decorations for a Day of the Dead party.

Gather the following tools and supplies to create the Day of the Dead Party Favors:

  1. Select four colors of cardstock for each sugar skull.
  2. Cut the skull from the Ole cartridge at 3.25″.
  3. Adhere all of the skull layers together using the tape runner and Precision Point Adhesive.
  4. Adhere multicolored gem stickers to the center of each flower.
  5. Adhere the skull to the straw using low temp hot glue.
  6. Give the Day of the Dead Party Favor to friends and coworkers

You can make these sugar skulls in a variety of colors. Choose colors that work best with your party decor and add the Day of the Dead Curly Paper Wreath to complete the look. Or, if you celebrate Day of the Dead, add these favors to your home altar as a decoration. A dear friend has her home altar up all year long and these favors would be a nice addition. You can also add these favors to a treat bag for a Day of the Dead celebration or share with your coworkers to bring more color and festiveness to the office. These Day of the Dead Party Favors are fun to create and will bring a smile to the face of the recipient.
